An OUTSTANDING Pair of Boots for this Old Soldier!
Last March I had to have my RT great toe schwacked off due to hiking injury during a 2 week backcountry trip in the mountains of NW New Mexico. (Philmont and a VERY aggressive trek, if you know you know.) Anyway, after Mr Stubby, formerly known as my big toe healed up I discovered that the biomechanics of my foot in my footwear had changed dramatically for my right foot. My old boots like my 15 yrs old Merrill’s chewed my foot up and spit it out after a day of plain ol yardwork. My Salomon’s? Altama’s? Same story, so at this point I’m wearing these slip on sandals everywhere and I HATE sandals. With socks no less!!! I hang my head in shame for violating one of the cardinal rules of being a Texan man - you don’t wear socks with sandals. Anyway, I was obviously in the market for a pair of boots or shoes that wouldn’t rub blisters on various parts of my footwear bc I don’t have a big toe in the boot keeping my foot secured on the shoes footbed, it was a problem and I didn’t want to go down that path again. I came across these boots and saw that the toe box was spacious but the boot looked like it was be able to secure my right foot. I pulled the trigger and let me just say thank you Viktos for partnering with GovX to provide AD, LEO, and grumpy old vets like myself such a generous discount. Anyway, I pulled the trigger on these boots. When they arrived they had some cool stickers, but honestly I went straight to putting that boot on my foot to test drive. Initially I took it easy, waiting for a hot spot to indicate my foot was being rubbed in a place it shouldn’t. That NEVER happened, and has not happened to this day. I’m still dealing with a couple issues, but I’ve had these shoes on and put quite a few miles on my old dogs. The toe box is freaking perfect, the boot laces up and is secure on all points, keeping Mr. Stubby in line. They have a nice look to them, especially after using them, and I’ve had more than one dude compliment my boots and ask me where I got them. I’m probably one of their best salesmen at this point. Because it’s true. All my other boots have made their way to Salvation Army or the trash, and now I have 3 pair of Viktos shoes/boots. This pair however - the Core Combat boot is my favorite. These things are just flat out comfortable! I’ve had them at the range aka back 40 of the cow pasture slangin’ freedom pills like a Texan on brisket at an all you can eat BBQ! As I mentioned a lot of walking, especially during the Christmas holiday, we had family in from Brazil and we did A LOT of walking. My spousal unit, was worried something would go south with my feet, but I was confident in my boots and they did not let me down. I will order another pair to have after these wear out, as of now, they are still 100% serviceable. You can’t go wrong with this boot brothers. It’s comfortable for your dawgs and if you’re like me and spent more than a minute in this man’s Army, you want to treat your dawgs well after a decade + of abuse. This is the boot for you. I wouldn’t steer my brothers wrong, even if they are in the Chair Force. Thanks Viktos for designing a boot that helped me once again enjoy the the beauty and peace of the outdoors and the more importantly, the wonderous smell of cordite. Amazing Shoes
I'm on my second pair of these shoes. Wear them for work, 12+ hour shifts on patrol. Overall I've purchased I think 8 pairs of Viktos shoes/boots over the years, some of which I beat the shit out of and got more of the same; 1911, Armory Mid, Core Gym, PTXF Core 2, Core Combat. Absolutely incredible product. Will continue to purchase for life.

Got a pair of these on sale, and they are honestly my favorite Viktos shoes yet. I have two pairs of low Over Beach and one mid Over Beach. Absolutely love those (obviously). These are even better. Fit, function, style, everything just works

First Pair and Won't Be my Last Pair!!
These are some comfortable boots brothers. I wore combat boots most of my adult life and I can tell you these are like walking on those cool puffy clouds you see in the sky that look cute and all but will train wreck your life if you don't pay attention. Kind of like me. Let me tell you - I had to have most of my RT great toe amputated due to a nasty bone infection) Hardly any of my current boots (Merrill, Salomon, Altama) some with some legit hard mileage on them, but those shoes/boots messed up my 4.33 toed foot. Not the Core Combat Boot. The CCB has a roomy toe box. My feet are happier than a fat man at a free all-you-can-eat pancake buffet w/ Aunt Jemimah IV's. (That's pretty damn happy in case you aren't familiar with corn syrup IV's.) Anyway, excellent wet surface traction, good grips in the dirt n mud or wet slipper floors at Homo Depot. They are wearing real nice and I don't recall a break-in period, they were 110% GTG from the moment I put them on my feet. Like any shoe/boot worth its weight, there's a pull loop on the back to help pull them on your dawgs. The CCB also doesn't make my dawgs think they are in a sauna. The boots breath pretty dang good. I don't know about you, but I generally steer away from waterproof boots. I want a boot that breathes and the Core Combat BOOT do just that. I also picked up a pair of Overbeach ATV boots. They also have a very roomy toe box, and look sharp, but they aren't leather like the CCB, which I may have mentioned are damn comfortable. So take it from a grumpy old vet with jacked up Army feet.. The Core Combat boot is a WINNER. You can thank me now and your feet will thank me later. Viktos - thanks for taking care of us old dog faced soldiers!

Incredible buy.
Active LE. Wear these everyday of the week, rain or shine. Not waterproof but dry quick, light but offer great support, and durable as all get out. 1 year in and tread is still like new.

Great shoes!
I got these to replace a different brand that I wore completely out. I love the cushioned footbed and the open toe box! These are more of a cool weather shoe since there’s not as much ventilation but I’m probably going to get another pair of these to keep nice since this is about as dressy as I get and I’ll be wearing these every day for the winter.
