as the gray man goes
Some days call for blending in, but you still want your essentials close—and your security closer. The Counteract 27 CCW Backpack is built for gray man life, combining minimalist looks with maximum concealed carry capability.
Its 27-liter chassis is built from weather and stain-resistant Tuff Hyde™ material, so it handles rough commutes and worse weather. Need to keep things flexible? The removable Outright™ tray lets you set up your CCW just how you like it, while side-access zippers put your draw within easy reach.
Inside, hook & loop panels let you build out your own modular storage system. You get our Hookie™ Holster for a full-size pistol and a Hookie™ 10 for your mag or tourniquet, right out of the box. Drop your daily tech into the padded sleeve (fits up to a 17" laptop), and use the rear pocket if you want to add a IIIA ballistic soft armor panel for peace of mind.
The details are dialed: exterior water bottle pocket, YKK® zippers with quiet pulls, and all the EDC storage you need—without the tactical look. Comfortable padded shoulder straps and a ventilated back panel make all-day carry a breeze.
Designed and developed by U.S. veterans, field tested by SF operators and CCW professionals. Backed by our one-year Tried & True warranty.

EDC’d for a couple months now
I believe this bag would be 3 star if It wasn’t so uncomfortable. I’ve carried it for a couple months now while traveling. The Velcro attachments are really cool. Although my edc holster doesn’t fit in the included hookie holster very well. (The holster slips out of the hookie.) The Velcro is strong though and the other attachments viktos sells could be useful I suppose. Material quality seems very good, and build quality is also good. I like the rubberized texture on the outside of the pack. I am however scared one day my cat will find it and love it too. The ccw compartment works, the side access zippers to the ccw work too. It is a tight squeeze to deploy your weapon this way though. I wear large sized gloves, on the smaller end of large, and my hand has trouble fitting in the compartment and indexing the weapon in any timely manner. (Ungloved btw) I say all this as a preface to my biggest two complaints that I can’t seem to get around. The internal main compartment including “padded” laptop sleeve, seems to have very little practical use. The whole bag clamshells so anything you load in here has the potential to fall out when opening it. There’s access to one of the front pockets from inside but there’s also a zipper outside so I don’t completely get it. Otherwise there is no way to retain anything you pack into the main compartment. And let me give fair warning. The stuff you put in that main compartment will 100% be pressing very hard on your laptop. It actually makes impressions on the “padding” that you can feel on the inside of it. I have a raincoat a small med kit and a few odds and ends in this main compartment. I stopped using it to carry a laptop out of fear it would crack the screen or something. So honestly I’m not sure how to use the main compartment at all. Now that I can’t carry my laptop in it, and not a lot else either. I’m not sure it’s even practical to use for any application. To use it simply for the ccw makes 0 sense to me because anywhere I can legally have a backpack gun I can also have an on person gun.. which is objectively better in all ways. I could go on about the main compartment but that gets the point across. (It’s a little useless) The last thing, and this really broke the deal for me, the shoulder straps and the way it sits on your back. It has to upper back pads near your shoulder blades depending on how you wear your pack. And btw I am a backpacker so I do know about packs. There’s no way to adjust it to where it isn’t causing pressure on your mid back. (Think holding your arms up to do a tedious task like sanding a small object on a workbench or even doing the dishes for an extended time. After just a few minutes of wear the upper center of my back is absolutely wrecked. The straps themselves are padded but you can’t tell while wearing it. It drags on your shoulders heavily and pulls you backward. That about sums it up

Solid EDC Concept, But the Main Compartment Needs a Rethink
This is my first Viktos backpack, and it nails the goal of being EDC-ready without looking tactical. The exterior and back panel are well designed. However, the included Velcro-back holster didn’t work for me, so I had to replace it with one that supports my appendix setup. The biggest drawback is the main compartment—it lacks enough pockets for organizing cables and small gear. I’ve had to buy extra accessories to make it work, which shouldn’t be necessary. Overall, solid concept and build, but the main compartment needs better internal organization.

27 Covert Bag
Well made and many options for your gear to be put in numerous pockets. And, looks like a normal bag that doesn’t bite.

Great bag
Well built and designed. Love the design for the trays, easily configured and able to remove to say go to the air pot for a flight. I’ve used several for mixing and matching or quick swaps for different bags. Like the complete open design of main compartment also lined for Velcro attachments and bags. Could use for sbr or pistol option. Also interesting back compartment I thought worked great as well. Another great product from Viktos!
