The Art of Just Enough
One of the more difficult lessons you learn in design school is knowing when to stop.
It's very easy to overbuild a product in an attempt to solve every possible problem. I know -I've done it.
And often, while going for everything, the end result misses the point.
With the VIKTOS Opsec Field Fleece, restraint was the key. Start with a basic hoodie-warm, comfortable, and a staple of most men's closets. Then add only what's absolutely necessary to make it field-ready.
The original concept had more going on. As the design developed, the question became less about what else I could add and more about what I could leave out.
A little rain resistance across the shoulders & hood with DWR-treated overlays, some extra NyCo in forearms for the grind of daily life, and a seriously deep kangaroo pocket with a concealed zipper for stuff you'd rather not dump in the dirt.
Together, it's more capable without losing the comfort and simplicity that make a hoodie a hoodie.
And to me, that's the essence of VIKTOS.
Not uniform. Not costume. Just functional apparel for guys who do stuff.
