    Poor execution

I wear gloves often. I wear them training, I wear them doing work, and I even wear them walking the dogs, weather permitting. And I have bought and tried a lot of them. I've had to have bought 30 different types of tactical to semi-tactical gloves over the years and very few get it right. Sadly, the Zerodarker Glove didn't get it right either. For a low-vis glove we want to be able to do work should the been a need to do so, and the gloves should allow for the finger dexterity to run the tools needed to do work. I thought these gloves looked like a winner. The idea of being able to slip out the bang switch actuator to make the behavior modification tools run smoothly was exciting. You really only see that in the convertible mittens, and who wants to wear mittens? So, I had to try them. So, as far as getting the bugger hook unsheathed it is a 50/50 shot. The zipper flipper is so small that you really can't actually grab it with your other gloved hand. But let's pretend you did. Let's pretend you were able to somehow magically pinch down and grab that sucker, you still have to fight that stuff ass zipper. Even if the other hand is ungloved and you have a good purchase on the zipper, you have to extend out so the zipper is in a straight line for it to unzip. So, you're going to have to take your time, take the other glove off, open your hand flat, and then tug on it at just the right angle for it to unzip. Otherwise it's like wrestling meth-cats. But let's pretend that isn't an issue. Let's say that is acceptable. Once that zipper is unzipped, you're not zipping it back up anytime soon. So, zipping it up is the same hassle as unzipping it, but in reverse. So, you're just letting that sucker hang half out your glove for the remainder of whatever activity prompted you to unsheathed that sucker. And you're thinking, I'll just put the finger back in the glove and treat it like ventilation, but that isn't working either, leading us to the next problem; Floppy Finger Syndrome. Once your finger is out, where does the glove finger go? It goes nowhere, that's where it goes. It just stays there in the way, flapping around like extra flab of useless skin getting in the way. Your swiping digit just kind of wants to live half-in and half-out of the glove finger too, making it just an extra thing to contend with. So, with that said, if you were doing an MJ and one-gloving it, and needed to hail-marry a fun-stopper without regard to future finger consequences, then this escape hatch would work, so +1 star for that. And finally, the rest of the glove... is the same as the other 2 or 3 Viktos gloves, which is backwards. The thick leather-ish protection and padding is on the palm side of the hand while the thinner, breathable material is on the outside of the hand. This design always baffles me. It's like gloves designed to move blocks of ice in the summer kind of design. The palm side protection just eliminated any real dexterity which makes these useless for any task that isn't rowing a boat or swinging a bat. You really can't do anything in these except hold on to something. And the back of the hand is just cold the whole time. Heaven forbid any wind hit the back of your hand because then all you want to do is find a pocket big enough to shove these needlessly thick gloves into. Like, the protection is backwards. And you can forget using your fingertips for anything. In the end this seems like more gear that was designed and tested at a private range, for people who only do stuff at a private range, any maybe a photo shoot.
